EDUARDO DEZA

"My work focuses on the human figure and its potential for expression as well as on the human condition and its various manifestations. I went to art school at Pasadena City College in Pasadena, California, and after graduating I started an independent study in painting. While at PCC, I took classes as a full time student during five years, taking advantage of the facilities and the life drawing and painting classes offered there.

In terms of my painting methods I am self taught, having a preference for oils and for a traditional manner of painting, which I learned through personal research, going to libraries, art museums and looking for information online.

My influences are varied and include symbolism, realism in all of its variations, kitsch(the Norwegian kind), surrealism and romanticism among others. I am a great admirer of the old masters of painting as well as contemporary ones.
