JENNIFER GENNARI
Jennifer Gennari is a classically trained artist, whose work is centralized around capturing emotion within the human form. Her work radiates with life, and gives the viewer a voyeuristic look into the spirit of the subject.
Jennifer graduated in 2005 from the Ringling College of Art and Design, as well as the Florence Academy of Art in 2011. Upon her graduation from Florence Academy, she returned to her home state of New York where she continues to paint, and teach at the National Academy. Currently, Jennifer is represented by Dacia Gallery in New York City.
“In the Deep and Autumn Nest are two paintings created with change in mind. Everything changes and we often look to preserve ourselves due to an ongoing struggle and fear of change.
What you see in each of these images is a person in a kind of time capsule surrounded by things that represent who they were at the time in which the image was painted. The coffin is representational of a sort of death that occurs once we realize we are no longer the same person. A “laying to rest” of what we once were.
We all change as time passes, so I have created these images as a way to look back and see what we've become.”
